Covid-19/Coronavirus Update: Shipping Delays
Due to the ongoing situation with the Covid19 pandemic, postal services worldwide are experiencing delays to their regular services.
For deliveries to Great Britain
Shipping may take a little longer than normal. Usually, your parcel should be delivered in 2 working days. Due to coronavirus related delays your parcel may take 5-10 working days for delivery. For international (non UK deliveries)
Usually items sent via Royal Mail International post would arrive within 10 - 15 business days, however, many countries have introduced special measures at customs and mail sorting centres which are operating with fewer staff than usual due to illness and staff self-isolating.
All postal carriers and customs departments experience a significant annual peak over the Christmas period and due to a dramatic increase in online sales and mail ordering this year, it is much higher than usual. With ongoing social distancing measures in place, services cannot increase their staffing levels as they normally would so their capacity for processing packages is less than it would usually be at this time of year
Although most major export routes remain open, there are fewer international flights available to transport mail, and diversions in place from some airports, resulting in a longer transit time between countries than would normally be expected.
In view of these issues, we are currently advising a maximum shipping time of 40 business days for international mail before items can be considered as lost in transit. This may change as the situation progresses.
