As illustrated in the map, South Carolinians set the lowest age at 11 years, while Delaware residents believe 17 years is more suitable. On average, Americans thought 14.9 years is appropriate to watch an R-rated movie.

Regarding concerns about R-rated content for viewers under 17, the majority of people found sexual content the most concerning (77%), followed by gore (58%) and drug use (57%). Strong language was the least concerning, with only 16% of respondents expressing worry over it.

When asked which franchises they would most like to see made into an R-rated movie, the top choices were Resident Evil (49%), The Witcher (40.3%) and Mortal Kombat (40.1%). Power Rangers was the least popular choice, with only 12.5% wanting an R-rated version.
